Here are some helpful tips to use when planning your fundraising strategy.
- Set a goal. It’s always good to work towards your own personal goal. It takes $350 to cure and care for one person living with leprosy. How much can you contribute towards your team’s total goal?
- Make a list of the people you know who would be interested in helping cure leprosy.
- Church Friends: your friends, your parent’s friends, previous churches
- Relatives: parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins
- Neighbours
- School Friends: friends, teachers, coaches
- Part-time Jobs: co-workers, supervisors
- Extra-curricular teams - Send your family and friends a letter before you do your event. Let them know you will be contacting them shortly so they can join you in your fight against leprosy. A sample letter for this purpose can be found on the Downloads page and is included with your leader’s kit.
- Learn the facts. People are going to have questions about what Cured not Cursed is all about. They may not even know what leprosy is. Make sure you read through the web site to get as much information as you can. Look on your Sponsorship sheet for even more leprosy facts.
- Have fun! You are doing an amazing thing for people living with a horrific disease. You can feel good about that! Other people will join in your excitement if you show them how charged you are about the cause!
